Clay Perry
In the midst of 1960s ‘Swinging London’, Clay Perry was the photographer for the avant-garde art scene, documenting the most innovative international artists of the period, including Yoko Ono, David Medalla, Liliane Lijn, Robert Rauschenberg, Sérgio Camargo, Gustav Metzger, Jesús Rafael Soto, Takis and Mark Boyle. Perry became house photographer for the legendary Signals Gallery, producing images for its iconic Signals Newsbulletin that provided a forum for artists, writers and poets involved in experimental art.
In May 2009, the exhibition Constellation at England & Co brought together Clay Perry’s photographs of the 1960s with works from the time. The images on these pages include works from the exhibition, among them Perry’s previously unpublished photographs of Yoko Ono's 1967 show, Half-a-Wind. News >
