Peter KingPeter King was a post-war British artist who initially made his reputation with carved wood abstracted figures and small bronze sculpture. King worked in many materials, including wood, bronze and stone, and was described as an 'action sculptor' for his late thrown metal works.
The exhibition Peter King (1928-1957): Retrospective was held at England & Co from 14 March to 12 April 2008. It included sculpture and works on paper plus screenings of his 1956 animated film The The Thirteen Cantos of Hell. An illustrated catalogue is available.
