Sir Roland Penrose

Sir Roland Penrose (1900-1984) was an English artist, art historian and poet - and a key figure in the British art world. He was a promoter and collector of modern art, an associate of the Surrealists in Britain and co-founder of the Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) in London. He was married to the model and photographer Lee Miller.

An important British Surrealist artist himself, his paintings, sculpture and collages are represented in collections including Tate, London.
