Aruma - Sandra de Berduccy

aruma - Sandra de Berduccy - is a Bolivian artist born in 1976, whose works use techniques and traditional Andean textile processes in diverse mediums including photography, video art, performances and site-specific installations.

She has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions since 1991, with works included in several travelling exhibitions in Bolivia,  Argentina (2003), Guatemala and El Salvador (2004), United States (2004, 2005, 2009) and Brazil (2006 - 2010). Her work was recently acquired by the Essex Collection of Latin American Art at the University of Essex, UK, and was featured in the exhibition curated by Valeria Paz Moscoso, Unravelling Threads at Firstsite in Colchester in 2012.

aruma - de Berduccy has exhibited with England & Co at the Pinta Latin American Art Fairs in London and New York, and in 2012, her performance using the interaction of visual and sound sources - 'si me permiten hablar' ('if I may speak') was part of the ESCALA programme at Pinta.
