Raymond Morris

Morris was born in London in 1951. He started painting in his early thirties when he moved into his council flat, to him 'the most magical place... the centre of a powerful spirit presence is in this living room'. Over his years there, he has covered every surface with his paintings and visionary writings. He works in many media, making declamatory audio tapes, paintings, collages, watercolours and notebooks filled with drawings and extraordinary texts and poems. Morris has been featured in Raw Vision magazine and included in many exhibitions around the subject of 'Outsider' art, and in 2001 he was included in Obsessive Visions: Art Outside the Mainstream at England & Co.
