Elisabeth Collins

Born in Yorkshire in 1904, Elisabeth Collins overcame family opposition to study art. She met and married the painter Cecil Collins while they were students at the Royal College of Art. As well as being his muse, she made magical gouaches and drawings of her own. The Tate acquired works from her 1996 exhibition at England & Co. She died in 2000, and a memorial exhibition Elisabeth Collins 1904-2000: Works from the Studio was held at England & Co in 2002. Works from her studio are available at the Gallery on request and some of her works can be seen on these pages. Two exhibition catalogues were produced by England & Co.
